Elements Supply stocks various plastic poly bags for packaging food products. These bags are made of 100% virgin resin material and are all FDA and USDA certified for food contact.
Different Types of Food Bags
Low Density Polyethylene Bags (LDPE) - most commonly used for food bags and utility bags. Because low density polyethylene is breathable, products stored without refrigeration or freezing will not last as long, compared to a polypropylene bag.
Flat Poly Bags - can be sealed with a heat sealer or tape
Gusseted Bags - best used for bulkier or odd-shaped items such as loaves of bread
Sandwich Bags - flip top bags used for packaging fruits, sandwiches, and other food items
Polypropylene Bags - combine excellent chemical resistance and strength. Unlike LDPE, polypropylene (PP) bags are not breathable, resulting in longer product shelf life for retail situations. These bags are perfect for packaging items like herbs, nuts, candies, and other confectioneries. Additionally, polypropylene bags are more clear than LDPE or LLDPE bags for enhanced product visibility. PP bags also have a high melting point, meaning they are great for heat sealing.
